Great "porch 'n wine" jazz!

Honestly, I stumbled upon this album while checking out (for the very first time) the jazz channel on my television. I rarely go to those channels, but I love smooth jazz, so I hopped on for a minute while in surf mode. The song "No More Rain" was on, and it is exactly the kind of music I love to listen to on my porch with a glass of wine. It's a smooth and sexy song. I wrote down the title and came to Amazon this morning to check the entire album. Loved it, bought it.

Rhythm 'n' Jazz Band

Take some of the jammin'-est funk faves from the 70s and 80s, jazzify 'em, and crank 'em up:  that's the m.o. behind "After Dark" and "Dance The Night Away", two excellent CDs by the band Rhythm 'n' Jazz on Atlanta-based label Ben's House of Music.

All the tracks are instant crowd pleasers for who dig "grown folks music":  the jams - covers of smash hits by Teena Marie, Rick James, Slave, Soul II Soul, Cameo, The Emotions, Jean Knight and more - are most definitely all killer and no filler.  The band is deadly, and adds some original jazzy spice to these hits with clean, thick, poppin' production, tight playing, and vibrant solos.

The CD's each offer distinct energy:  "Dance The Night Away" is a straight-up jamfest, while "After Dark" cools things out on the romantic tip.  The two can be sequenced so that the soundtrack for your party is planned appropriately:  warm things up with "Dance The Night Away" then ice the vibe down with "After Dark".

My fave tracks from the albums:  "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)", "Slide", "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get", and "Mary Jane".

If you're thirsty for an instant party-to-go, the easiest and fastest way to amp up the room and get your jazzy-funky groove on is with "After Dark" and "Dance The Night Away" by Rhythm 'n' Jazz.  They'll give your sound system, your body, and your crowd a serious workout!
